A follow request from Instagram user kie.carrera stares at her from her phone's screen as Jules lays on her bed. If the name wasn't enough to tell her this was the girl from last night, her profile picture of herself and Sarah was confirmation.

Jules closes Instagram without accepting the request, and goes to her chat with Riri, reading it for what feels like the hundredth time. Riri's last message, "Won't happen again, I promise"  glares at her. Won't happen again, and Jules believes her. Whole-heartedly thinks she tells the truth, even. She feels so stupid for how eager she was to accept the apology, the half-assed explanation, she feels so stupid for believing her like it's something she hasn't done before.

She feels so stupid knowing she'd forgive her over and over again.

Finally, she lets out a long breath, and opens Instagram once again, going to accept Kiara's (Kie's?) follow request, and then sends one back.

"Julia?" Comes from outside of her room, and Jules looks up to see her mother pushing the door open and walking inside, "How do I look?"

Jules' mother wears a tight neon yellow dress that reaches just above her knees, it has no sleeves and looks to be reflecting the light, almost. She has long black earrings as well as heels, and her hair is in cornrows with a high twisted bun.

"You look perfect, mom," Jules says, truthfully, "As always."

The woman smiles, "Thanks, baby."

She kisses her daughter's temple, then goes back out of the room.

"Your father and I will be back pretty late, don't stay up waiting for us! Ask Fede to make you something for dinner!" She calls back, then Jules hears the sound of her heels against the floor as she goes down the stairs.

Federica is in her room quickly without Jules herself saying anything. She's a white Spanish woman, maybe ten years older than Jules' mother. She wears a black dress, and stands only slightly shorter than Jules herself. That's a recent development, a couple of months before they were still at around the same height.

"What do you want for dinner?" Federica asks, smile on her face.

"Oh, I can do that myself," Jules says, but Tereza places her hands on her hips.
