5.00 PM                                                                                                                       The Barn

WHAT! IT'S FIVE ALREADY! OH MY GOSH!

Time just flies when you're cleaning the stables.

Yup, Grandma might have a Groom and stable boys, but she still makes me clean up after Starlight. Not that I mind. I love spending time with Starlight.

Though it's kinda weird after last night.......

Which brings me to the third thing that happened yesterday.

It was past midnight. I know because I heard the grandfather clock strike twice when I got out of bed. The thing was, how much ever I tried, I couldn't stop thinking of how Marrok kissed me. My face was flushed and I almost tore my pillow to shreds.

So I sneaked out of the mansion quietly. No one even realized that I had gone out. Now that I think of it, even the dogs didn't bark.

The only thing that made me sneak out was the image of the lake. The lake in the woods where I used to go swimming, whenever I came to Sunpeak Valley - Lake Crystalwater.

I was feeling hot, like I had a fever.

Maybe that's why I paid no attention to the weird colour the moon had.

It was red. Blood red.

The moon was so close that I felt like I could touch it if I reached out. I walked in its light, following familiar routes and heading towards the lake. I knew the woods like the back of my hand, since I had spent so much time in them, either with Starlight or with Marrok and other kids of the village when we were younger.

Finally I reached the lake. It looked so magical under the light of the moon. The surface shining like red silk. I walked into the cold water in a daze. It felt like a balm to the heat of my skin.

And that's when it happened, Diary.

I heard a wolf howl.

Now I knew for a fact that there were no wolves in the forest, but this one was close. So close that I had to cover my ears when I heard it howl.

The wolf’s howl resounded in my ears, so much so that I couldn't hear anything else. I didn't even realize it had stopped until I heard a new sound - of paws against hard ground.

I opened my eyes and froze in shock, hardly daring to breathe.

The werewolf was standing right in front of me.

Let me tell you something about werewolves Diary, they are totally not like how the new generation makes them out to be.

They aren't huge wolves.

More so like, if a man and a wolf had a love child, then the creature standing in front of me would be it.

It was tall, almost seven feet tall. It stood like a man - standing on two legs. But, apart from that, it looked completely like a wolf. Instead of skin it had fur, instead of a mouth it had a muzzle and instead of nails it had claws.

If it didn't look so real, I would have thought it was one of those really good Halloween costumes.

But the worst part of it were the eyes, they were so human.

The werewolf and I stared at each other, each regarding the other closely.

I was shocked to find that I was feeling sorry for it. He looked so sad. So lost.

Well that was until he opened his muzzle and I saw his fangs.

I let out a bloodcurdling scream and the werewolf launched itself on me. I raised my arm to protect myself and that's when it bit me.

Right on the shoulder.

I don't remember much of what happened after that, just that suddenly darkness overcame me.

When I woke up around five this morning, I found myself in my bed.

Don't ask me how I got there Diary, 'cause I really don't know.

I just know that the window was open. The panel had five long grovels like something had clawed it. I looked out of the window, which was at least twenty feet above the ground. The ground itself was sunk in like something had landed on it.

The next thing I did was check out the bite.

Only there wasn't any bite, just a crescent moon shaped scar, glowing silver in the light.

That's when I decided to buy you Diary. To record everything.

I have thirty days until the next full moon.

Thirty days to find out who that werewolf was.

Thirty days until I change.

Yup. No pressure.
