Nathan had a smile on his face as he stepped out of the college doors. His newest assignment was simple, all he had to do was continue to write chapter ten of his novel, something he completed months previously.

With the cold biting at his skin, Nathan pulled out his phone, surpassing a groan when he saw no resonance from Mr. Smith or his client. Ignoring the anxiety rising in his chest, Nathan pulled out his phone and called Lucas.

"Hi Baby," Lucas greeted, bringing a smile to Nathan's face.

"Hi! Do you think you can pick me up? If it's too much trouble, you could send me your address and I'll just get a taxi," Nathan ranted.

"Don't be ridiculous, Nate, of course I can pick you up! I'll be there in twenty minutes, okay? I'm sure my siblings will survive without me," Lucas promised.

"Okay, I'll see you then," Nathan answered, hanging up.

Nathan put his phone back into his pocket. Noticing the gray clouds, Nathan walked back inside.

During his wait, Nathan wasn't surprised when it started raining. Only to groan when he realised he had nothing to protect himself.

Unfortunately, the rain only seemed to increase by the time Lucas pulled up. Nathan kept his head down as he walked towards the car. Nathan grabbed the soaking handle and pulled the door open. Nathan smiled at Lucas as he slid into the seat.

"You had to park the furthest from the door, didn't you?" Nathan questioned, annoyed.

"Hello to you to," Lucas responded sarcastically, leaning over and pecking Nathan on the cheek.

"You don't even seem sorry! I'm drenched now," Nathan continued, breaking his façade when he saw Lucas smile.

"It's not my fault there're no spaces! What did you want me to do? Block the road?" Lucas combated, reversing out of the space.

"Yes. It would save me from almost drowning," Nathan dramatically ended, crossing his arms, emitting a laugh from his boyfriend.

"I'm sorry, Baby," Lucas resorted, kissing Nathan's cheek while they were stopped at the traffic lights.

Instead of responding, Nathan got comfortable and looked out of the window.

A comfortable silence fell over the couple until Nathan broke it.

"Have you told your siblings about me?" Nathan questioned and turned the heater on.

"Yes. Well, they were there when I told my parents we were together," Lucas explained, not taking his eyes off the road.

"Am I meeting both of them? Or is Josh out with his friends?" Nathan asked.

"He's grounded. My Dad caught him drinking. It's safe to say he wasn't happy; Josh is grounded for a month with no phone, laptop, any electronics and has even more chores. Luckily most of them are mine," Lucas explained with a slight smirk on his face.

"That's a harsh punishment. All he did was have a drink. I know it's bad, but surly it doesn't deserve that." Nathan gave Lucas a confused look, despite knowing the elder wouldn't see it because he was focused on the road.

"It wasn't originally. One kid in his year at school, came up to my dad and asked him to give this vape back to Josh and thank him for letting his use it. At first he thought it was a joke. The kid's parents were with him and told him that Josh had bought him the vape. So, he was angry." Lucas laughed.

"Aren't vapes like £20 and capsules like £10? How did he get the money without your dad finding out?" Nathan asked, already taking a dislike to the teen.

"Apparently when he asked for money for charity things for school or money to spend when he went out with friends to buy them. I'm pretty sure he's vaped at home as well. I'm not sure though."

"No offence, Luke. But I don't like your brother," Nathan admitted, ignoring Lucas's confused look.

"Why not? He's a kid, Nate, and he made a mistake," Lucas attempted to convince.

"It's not that. I just don't like it when people do stuff like that. It's what my last foster parents did. It just made them worse," Nathan admitted,

"I understand. He doesn't vape anymore. My dad made sure of that. I'll make sure no one talks about it while your there," Lucas promised, taking Nathan's hand.

"It's fine, Luke. I'm just being stupid. It shouldn't even effect me anymore," Nathan mumbled harshly.

"Your not being stupid! Don't say that! I don't know what they did to you, but if it's anything like your dad, them I don't need to know. Listen to me Nate, It was only two years ago. Of course you haven't gotten over it. Your my boyfriend Nathan and I care about you. If there's anything I can do to make your life easier and make the pain go away, I will. It's my job, Babe," Lucas explained gently as he ran his hand across Nathan's knuckles.

"I don't want to be a burden to you. You shouldn't have to do anything for me. I shouldn't be so affected by things like that. Why aren't you mad at me? I just told you I don't like your brother without even meeting him! You should be furious at me," Nathan ranted, his voice raising with every word.

"I would never be annoyed at you for saying something like that. I was just confused about why you thought that. I'd never be annoyed that your past has caused you to form a negative opinion on someone. Believe me, after hearing what I've just told you, I wouldn't have the best opinion of him. I know he's my brother, but he's a bad kid. He's drank, smoked, and I wouldn't be surprised if he'll start taking drugs in the future. It's who he is. You can have any opinion on my family that you want. I might not agree, but I won't be against you for having a different opinion, okay?" Lucas explained.

"Yeah," Nathan responded, drying his eyes.

"Good," Lucas responded, pulling up to a large gate. Lucas rolled his window down and pressed a button on the speaker attached to the wall.

After talking to someone for two minutes, the gates opened.

"Here we are," Lucas announced, sending Nathan a small smile as he started driving further into the estate.
