"Welcome to the most elite cook-off series on YouTube," Cal says enthusiastically, as he stares down the camera lens. Standing just barely out of shot, I shake my head and smile. This is only my second time on his channel, making me slightly nervous, but his fans seemed to like me a lot the first time. However, cooking is something that I have to focus on to actually be good at and, for some reason, I doubt I’ll be able to focus around Cal.

"Today, we have a very special guest,” he begins, smiling deviously, “I don't think I've ever seen her in the kitchen before but...welcome Y/n."

I cross my arms as Sam pans the camera to me. “Settle down, we all know you’re only in the kitchen for these videos, love,” I say with a smirk. Harry, Lux, and Sam all start laughing and Cal groans dramatically.

“Alright, alright,” he says, regaining everyone’s attention as the room quiets down again. “We’re going to be making Christmas themed desserts and today, we’re shopping at Tesco’s.”

As soon as we get back from the store, Cal and I start taking out all of the ingredients we bought. Just by looking at everything he bought, I can tell what he’s going to be making. He seems confused by most of my ingredients, though.

“Would you like to tell us what you’re making today, Y/n?” he asks, scanning over the items on the counter. I shrug, examining my ingredients for a second.

“I’m making a gingerbread cake,” I say, smiling at our judges, Lux and Harry. Cal has an advantage with them because he knows their tastes, I'm just guessing.

“I’ve got some normal cake ingredients, sugar, flour, and there’s also some molasses, cinnamon, and some other spices.” I continue as I hold up each item. Cal watches me carefully the entire time, although I can’t quite figure out why. As I finish talking, he clears his throat and nods attentively.

“Not gonna lie, that sounds pretty basic,” he says, following the statement with a fake yawn. I chuckle and shoot him a dirty look, leaning against the counter casually.

“Okay, what masterpiece are you creating then?” I say sarcastically. Cal takes the opportunity to have the camera focus on him, building suspense with a long pause.

“Christmas pudding,” he states with his usual overflowing confidence. The words hang in the air for a few seconds as if they are the most important thing anyone has heard all day. Then, in unison, everyone but Cal bursts with laughter.

“Very original,” I reply, rolling my eyes and smirking at him. He glares back at me and we hold each other’s gaze for a little bit. Eventually, Lux loudly clears his throat.

“Wow, I can really feel the sexual tension between you two,” he says, causing himself and Harry to laugh again. Cal and I instantly look away from each other. For some reason, I feel like that part is going to get left in the video. With that in mind, I smile playfully at the camera and try to play off the awkwardness of the situation.

“Let’s get started,” Cal suggests, forcing a laugh.

Both of our desserts were going to take a while, so our time limit was longer than usual. Luckily, mixing my batter was a pretty quick process. Finding a cake pan in Cal’s kitchen was proving to be much more difficult. After a few minutes of looking, I grab one that is the perfect size. Of course, as soon as I turn around I notice Cal putting something into my batter.

“Oi, you better not be screwing up my recipe over here,” I say, walking up behind him. Cal instantly moves in between me and the counter to block my view. I move around him, grabbing his hand to see what he’s using to mess up the cake. There turns out to be nothing in his hand and I quickly pull away as I feel my face heat up from embarrassment. He smirks at me as he quietly goes back to making his own dessert.

I wait until his back is turned, then I sneakily pour some salt into his mixture. Harry and Lux notice what I’m doing and chuckle as they watch. Cal realizes what's happening and looks over at me just as I put the salt down.

“Hey, I saw that!” Cal shouts. I giggle and take a few steps backward, locking eyes with him.

“Saw what?” I ask innocently, looking at Harry and Lux for help. The two boys laugh and shake their heads, continuing their conversation and looking away from Cal and me.

“You were messing with this,” he says, pointing to the bowl on the counter. Glancing at the bowl and then back to Cal, I suddenly feel a rush of confidence.

“What are you gonna do about it?” I challenge him as I stand a bit taller. He steps towards me, his expression changing from annoyed to mischievous. Suddenly we’re a lot closer to each other than we've ever been. I slowly start to step back again until my leg hits the counter behind me. As I swallow the lump in my throat, I realize that Cal is absolutely enjoying this. He steps closer and traps me between the counter and his body. Hesitantly, he leans down and places his hands on either side of me with a smirk on his face. I tilt my head up, closing the gap between us and pressing my lips against his.
