Lily could not stand James and his constant tricks on Severus who was her best friend.
Lily rounded on James once again for pulling a prank on Severus, she said with fury and pure hatred in her eyes "I can't believe you did it again, you know I can't stand you".
James said in a teasing and flirtatious voice "Careful Evans, you might fall in love with me".
Lily felt her face turn red and she said as she got out of his face "Shut up Potter".
James whispered in her ear "No seriously, you're going to fall head over heels in love with me, you won't even be able to think straight".
Lily gasped and then said "Potter you are crazy".
James said "Yeah, crazy in love with you".
Lily blushed again and said "Stop it".
James said "Stop what?".
Lily said "Stop flirting with me".
James said "I'm not flirting with you, don't flatter yourself".
Lily gaped at him and then whacked him across the head and said "You are unbelievable".
Lily then glared at him and stormed off.
James said "I was just kidding Evans".
Lily flicked him off and continued to storm off in the other direction.
James said as he ran after her "Lily wait".
Lily turned around and said "No, you are truly an awful person, you are constantly bullying Severus and just being an arrogant prat, I'm so sick of you".
James said "You don't even know me".
Lily said "I know enough about you, I know that you're an asshole and I know that I can't stand you".
Lily glared at him and said "Now leave me alone".
James said "Fine, I'll leave you alone, but hang out with me, just once so you can really get to know me, I promise I will leave Severus alone forever, I'll never tease him again I promise".
Lily said "You make a very convincing statement so sure I'll hang out with you, but I will be allowed to leave if I want too".
James said "Of course".
Lily said "And you promise to leave Severus alone?".
James said "Yes, I promise".
Lily said "Good, now let's shake on it".
Lily stuck out her hand and James took it and the minute their hands touched, Lily felt sparks.
James said as he shook her hand "Deal, so I'll pick you up at 7".
Lily said confused about the sparks "Yeah, 7 it is".
James walked off to class and Lily was more confused than ever as she said "Now what was that about?".
Hours later, James and Lily were hanging out and were actually having a good time, Lily was laughing and even considered James a friend now.
Lily said as they walked back to the castle "You know, you're not so bad".
James said "See I told you there was more to me".
Lily said smiling "I guess I just had to see for myself".
James said "I guess you did".
Lily laughed and then smiled at him and said "Well, we should get inside, and thank you for today".
Lily then gave him a hug and walked inside.
James smiled and said to himself "Lily Evans actually laughed at my jokes and hugged me, I have won at life".
Lily had hated James for the longest time but now the two of them were friends and that made her happy.
Potter and Evans were finally getting along, as they should be.
