I'm a prodigy. That's what everyone tells me. After graduating middle school a year early, learning to harness my quirk, and getting into the UA entrance exams, all by the time I was 14, it seems obvious, right?

Wrong.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing here. I didn't even KNOW they would let someone my age in. I do want to be a hero, but I thought there was no way such a prestigious school would consider accepting me. I applied as a joke.

But here I am, fidgeting nervously as I wait for the exam to start. As I look around at all the other people here, I can't help but worry. These people look like they belong on a battlefield- well, most of them. There are a few people who don't look intimidating, but I'm not gonna let my guard down.

There's still about half an hour before the exam begins. I've already been waiting for an hour because I got here pretty early. As I'm surveying the room, the teachers start closing the doors and giving everyone information about the exam. I'm standing by the door, listening to what I'll have to do, when I hear a tapping noise from behind me.

I turn around and see a boy through the door's window. He's gesturing at the doorknob, trying to tell me to let him in.

Now, I'm pretty sure the teachers wouldn't appreciate him being late. They said in the message about the exam that you had to be in the room before the doors closed. Still, what am I supposed to do? Leave him out there?

I glance around at the teachers, who currently seem to be preoccupied with an argument going on between two potential students. I quickly open the door and wave him in before the teachers see. He slips inside, breathing heavily.

"Thanks. I owe you one." He says as he catches his breath. I nod, trying to focus on what the two boys were fighting about. I overhear something about clout and supremacy and a bunch of other crap.

"I'm Tubbo! What's your name?" He says cheerfully, holding out his hand. I notice that it's gloved, which strikes my interest slightly.

"I'm Tommy. No offense, but what kind of a name is Tubbo?" I ask, because I'm nice like that.

"It's gonna be my hero name eventually, so I figured I should start using it! My little sister always calls me that, so I'm kinda doing it for her, you know?"

(A/N: I know that's not where the name came from but it's wholesome so we're going with it)

"Cool." I say, thinking that's the end of the conversation. I'm wrong.

"How old are you? You look younger than everyone else."

He's one to talk. He's super short and his messy brown hair makes him look like he's twelve. "I'm fourteen."

His eyes light up. "So am I! I didn't know there would be other kids my age!"

"Neither did I!" I feel surprisingly happy knowing I'm not the only younger one here.

"What's your quirk? I bet it's super cool!"

"Umm..." I don't want to let him down. My quirk sounds a lot cooler than it actually is in practice. Still, if we both pass, he'll find out eventually. "It's called Power-Up. I can make my attacks stronger." I give him very few details, hoping he doesn't get his hopes up.
