Chapter 2: Practical Exam

I look over at Tubbo as we wait expectantly for the exam to start. He looks more determined than he did a minute ago.

Then, with no warning, the teachers yell for us to start, and all hel breaks loose.

Everyone is running in different directions. Tubbo and I start running to the center of the city, along with a few other people. As we run, I spot a robot that seems to have escaped the notice of the other teenagers. I grab Tubbo's arm and pull him towards the robot, ready to start the fight. It has a scorpion-like tail and a large 2 on its side. I focus, powering up my knife as I slash at one of its legs, cutting it off. It collapses and shuts down, which I assume means I got two points.

I see Tubbo fighting a larger robot with a 3 on it, which quickly falls as he jams my knife into the two cannon-like things on its back. We continue, fighting our way through the robots. Within the first two minutes, we've racked up around 16 points each. We stick close together as we make our way through the city.

At one point, I'm taking care of a 3 pointer when I hear Tubbo shout. I hear something fly past me as I stab the robot I'm fighting. I turn to see a 2 pointer collapsed on the ground behind me, a knife sticking out of it. "That was close! Be careful!" Tubbo shouts as he retrieves the knife and looks around for another robot.

"Thanks Big T, I owe you one!"

Soon there are three minutes left in the exam. Me and Tubbo are searching for other bots when the ground shakes. A dark shadow falls over the street. I look up at the cause of it.

It's a giant robot, taller than the buildings around us. I see a 0 on it's side. Why the hel is something this big not worth any points?

I glance over and see Tubbo staring up at the robot with wide eyes. "Tubbo let's get out of here!" I start to run away, but don't hear Tubbo following me. I turn around. He seems rooted in place, not moving from his spot as the giant robot begins moving towards him.

Why isn't he moving? If it gets any closer it's going to step on him. I hear the screams of other students as they run away from the mechanical terror. I look at a few of them running away before sprinting back towards the robot with one thought in my mind: I need to save Tubbo.

Sometimes I hate my quirk. It's useless in situations like this. I can't move any faster as I sprint over to where Tubbo is standing, his mouth agape.

"TUBBO, WE NEED TO GO!" I shout as I tug on his arm, trying to snap him out of his fear-filled daze. He turns to look at me and something clears in his eyes. He nods and starts running away. I try to follow him, but I trip. Out of all the f-ing times! I get up and feel a looming presence over me. The robot is now right behind me. I don't have time to run, it'll be on top of me at any moment now. I shut my eyes, bracing myself for whatever this thing could attack me with.

I hear the grinding of gears and a loud clang as metal meets metal. I open my eyes and see the pink-haired boy in front of me, holding up a large silver shield. The robot's foot must have bounced off of it. The robot is momentarily stunned by the impact, and the boy grabs me and runs away, dragging me away and making sure I'm not in the robot's current path.

"You ok?" he asks in a monotone voice.

I nod, still processing what just happened. "Thank you."

He gives a slight nod. "There's one minute left in the exam, I suggest you finish racking up points." And just like that, he runs off, leaving me to hunt for some more robots.

I manage to gain seven more points before the exam ends. As we all leave the exam area, I search frantically for Tubbo. I spot him and wave excitedly, knowing I look like an absolute dork right now. He smiles brightly and runs over to me, giving me a hug. "Thank goodness you're ok! I was really worried when I didn't see you following me. I couldn't find where you were, otherwise I would have helped. What happened?"

I explain to Tubbo about how I tripped and the person that saved me. His eyes grow wide as I talk before he interrupts me. "Pink hair? Is it that person over there?" He points over to two people, one of them being the monotone person from earlier. The other was a brown-haired boy in a maroon beanie. They seemed to be engaged in a conversation, as the brunet was laughing loudly and the pink-haired boy had a smile on his face.

"Yeah, that's him." I debate for a second before deciding to go over and thank him again. I walk over to him, Tubbo trailing behind me. The conversation seems to have just ended, as the beanie boy has walked away to interact with another group of people.

I walk up to the pink-haired boy and smile. " 'Ello. I'm Tommy. I just wanted to thank you again for earlier."

He looks at me, no emotions shown on his face. "Don't mention it." He looks over my shoulder. "Who's the kid?"

"I'm Tubbo! And I am not a kid, I'm fourteen, same as Tommy."

He smirks. "Yeah, like I said, a kid." He turns to walk off. "See you in class, maybe. Name's Techno by the way."

"Bye!" Tubbo waves at Techno as he walks off. Techno turns and sees Tubbo, surprising me by giving a slight wave in return. Then he resumes walking, eventually disappearing from my line of sight.

It has been way too long since I've watched the entrance exam episode. Thank goodness for the BNHA Wiki!

Also we're skipping over the written exam because I know nothing about it and that'd be a boring chapter.

I am super excited for the next chapter. It's kinda long compared to the other chapters so far, so look forward to that soon!
