Prologue

Snowflake was running across the moon-lit beach. She didn't expect her life to change drastically, even if it was to change in a few years. However, everything changed within the hour. Snowflake would meet up with Tide every so often. They had a hidden meet up spot near the Harmony shore, which was most convenient for Tide. Snowflake would leave the IceWing kingdom at the break of dusk, ensuring they wouldn't be caught. The first time she met Tide was only a year back, he was on the shore of the Harmony sea.

Snowflake was flying around during the night, breathing in the fresh air. She looked around and saw a SeaWing staring at the stars in the night sky. Snowflake flew down to the SeaWing and demanded.
"What are you doing here, SeaWing?" The SeaWing jumped in surprise and looked fairly startled.

"I-I uh....none of your business, SeaWing stuff, nothing you IceWings need to know" The SeaWing said, but not very confidently. Snowflake stared at the SeaWing with a confused expression. Why is he keeping secrets? The SeaWing was a bit plump, but had these sweet and adorable eyes.

"What is your name?" Asked the SeaWing. Should I tell him? Is this the smartest decision? Stay true to who you are Snowflake...but maybe to show others who I am...I need to share who I am.

"My name is Snowflake." The SeaWing put out his talon in a friendly gesture.

"W-well, my name is Tide" Tide shifted his talons nervously in the sand and caused the darker sand to emerge. "I- uh, I need to get back to the palace, will I see you again here?" asked Tide. Do I want to see him again? Is it worth risking our lives? But I do want to know more about him...he does seem like an interesting and sweet dragon to know, thought Snowflake.

"Maybe...maybe I'll see you around" said Snowflake "Let's see if our paths cross once again." Tide's eyes widened in surprise, he really does want to see me again? Why me, out of all his wonderful SeaWing friends?

"Maybe I'll see you again, possibly in two days' time, at midnight?" asked Tide. Snowflake looked up at Tide, "possibly."

Snowflake came to speak to Tide almost everyday. It was only after the eighth month she knew she had fallen for the SeaWing. Everything changed when Tide didn't show up at the time he promised he would be there. Where is he? thought Snowflake intensely. Have we been caught? Three moons I knew mother was right....I shouldn't interact with other tribes Snowflake remembered. "Do you not love me anymore, my dear Tide?" Snowflake murmured out loud. She was hiding under the palm trees, only feet away from where Snowflake hoped Tide would appear, but he never did. Hours went by, agonizing moments of pain, worry, and hopelessness. WHOOSH! Tide came out of the water with a thump, breathing heavily.
"Oh....thank goodness...you're...s-still here" Tide breathed. Snowflake was not prepared for Tide's sudden appearance, nor was she ready to yell at him.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" roared Snowflake, "I have been waiting for HOURS and you show up saying you're glad that I'm still here!" Tide's face shifted from relief to anguish.
"I-I...I'm sorry Snowflake. Mother has been keeping a close watch on me...I fear she knows" Tide whispered. Snowflake knew she shouldn't mess with Tide's family. Tide spoke about his family frequently, how they want to stick to tradition and ensure their family line was not tainted. Snowflake was prepared for what was to come, but did she have the courage to do it? "We need to leave, we aren't safe" breathed Tide, "Please come with me Snowflake, I don't want to be without you...y-you mean everything to me." Is this my only choice? Snowflake thought, her breathing slowing.
She looked away from Tide, eyes facing the moon-lit sand. She picked up sand, watching it slowly escape through her talons. Snowflake was taught to never show your emotions, prove you are worth something, show you are powerful. She wasn't able to conceal those feelings, everything felt as if she was being pushed down by the world. Snowflake was sobbing, she couldn't bear to go back to the IceWing kingdom. She knew she was supposed to marry the most noble IceWing, Frost. Tide slowly approached Snowflake, worry in his wonderful eyes. Tide took her talons in his. Snowflake wouldn't dare to look up, she wasn't ready to leave her only home. "Oh Snowflake...I'm sorry for everything, I knew this was wrong to love you, I know we can't be together, but my heart always pulls me to see you every day." Snowflake looked up at his eyes. Tide stroked a talon across her tear stricken face.
"Please don't ever be sorry!" Snowflake sobbed, "You don't deserve to feel wrong about loving me...I feel as if everyone is against us...but I-I don't..." Snowflake stopped, feeling lost in what to say next. "Maybe not everything will go exactly as planned" said Tide while he nervously fiddled with his tail. "We can build our story together-"
"Forever" replied Snowflake. Snowflake didn't know exactly what was to come, but she knew her story was just starting. "I hope our adventure will take us to new places... maybe even to The Lost Continent" Snowflake whispered. I'll always be here for you, Tide thought Snowflake.
"Are you sure we can do this?" asked Tide, his glowing scales illuminating off the waves of the Dragon Sea. Snowflake removed her talons from his.
"We will do this adventure together, forever...even if a storm starts to rise" whispered Snowflake into his ears "Our dragonet will live the best life we can give them." Snowflake smiled at Tide, he grinned back. Tide's facial expression drastically changed from high joy and love to shock.
"OUR DRAGONET?" Tide roared in shock. "YOU'RE WITH EGG?" Tide sat down on the sand, placing a talon on his forehead. "Three moons, this is absolutely wonderful...but they'll look different, a hybrid...they're not accepted..." Tide looked down, feeling as if his life flashed between his eyes.
"I will love our dragonet, no matter how they look," said Snowflake, "I will protect them with my life." Tide opened his mouth to speak, but shut his mouth quickly.
"Maybe...maybe we can live off the radar, keep our dragonet safe and happy" Tide said, looking directly towards Snowflake. Snowflake took Tide's talons, placing it on her stomach.
"Our dragonet will be loved forever, they will be our little warrior, our hope to their acceptance, our rising storm" Snowflake said, looking out towards the ocean. Snowflake placed her head on Tide's shoulder. She twined her tail around his and they sat there, wing-in-wing. "I love you" whispered Snowflake.
"I love you too," Tide whispered back. Tide's eyes were now looking out towards the ocean. Snowflake knew what he was thinking, he would be leaving his life in the sea in exchange for a life with her. Tide placed his talons in the sea, feeling the comfort of the water below him.
"Ready?" Snowflake took one last look out to the ocean.
 "Always."
