AYLIN'S POV

(Aylin) "Clara!! I'm home! What do you want to eat?!" I watch Clara come out of her room with freshly painted nails. "Oh, sorry I didn't know you were doing your nails. What's the occasion?"

"Nothing special just felt like it" she shrugs off.

"Well, this week's menu includes, chicken roast, pesto penne, Mexican night..." I start to list off.

"No, no need. Today we feast out." Clara interrupts.

"But we ate out yesterday," I say ridiculed.

"And I got us a double date," she says all smiley, "It's been too long since you've had fun,"

"Absolutely not. And what do you mean by I don't have fun? I have fun, I'm a fun person" the seedling of self-doubt not settling well.

(Clara) "When was the last time you had fun?"

(Aylin) "I- umm, ooh when we... uhh when we..."

(Clara) "That's right, and you're thinking we, so that means you have fun with me. So trust me on this and let's go out." I remain silent. "You don't have to commit right away, or even at all. This is just a fun night out and we're meeting new people, don't think of it as a date."

"Okay, fine. But you still have to help put the groceries away." giving up on trying to argue. 'She's right though, I have to learn to leave and go on dates, I can't always shy away because I'm scared of what others think."

»»——————————««

I sit on Clara's bed watching her finish with her makeup. After helping me put the groceries away, she started getting ready while I took a nice, hot shower. I had dried my hair with the hair-dryer and was waiting for Clara to finish.

"Done. Now your turn!"  She moves towards me with her make-up kit and lightly starts applying base make-up covering up dark spots and scars. I remain steady to not infuriate her. 'What am I going to wear today?' I look down to Clara's outfit to see she's wearing casual dress which means I can definitely go for a 'nice' t-shirt and pants look. 'Yes, it would hide my unwanted curves but still look date worthy. That way, if I even hit it off with the guy, I don't have to constantly worry about his thoughts on my chubbiness.' I am pulled out of my thoughts when Clara initiates conversation, "Do you know what you're wearing?"

(Aylin) "Uhh, I was thinking of jeans, and that cute pink top. I'll bring a jean jacket in case it gets cold and white pumps to finish the look."

"Really?" she exclaims in disbelief, "Come on, wear a dress. We can match. Pweease Aylinn." she pouts, something she knows I cannot resist.

(Aylin) "And what do you expect me to wear?" There's a brief moment of silence where I expect her to give up on trying to get me into a dress.

(Clara) "Ohh, I know." She digs into her closet, rummaging through clothes and bags, until I hear her come out with more sounds of bags crinkling. She pulls out a bag from behind her and gives me a toothy smile. I give her a look of confusion. "Open it! I mean there isn't much to open but I bought this when I went out." I pull out a dark blue flowy dress that would hang loosely around me but it came with a belt to accentuate the waist. (DRESS IN MEDIA SECTION) "I thought we could wear matching dresses, but they didn't have my size so I still bought it for you, and then I forgot to give it to you." she looks happy with her decision. "Okay, back to make-up and hair!" I quickly change into the dress and sit back down. She picks up a makeup brush with eyeshadow that looks far too dark.

(Aylin) "Clara! NO! That's far too dark. I don't want to look like an eight-year-old with her mother's makeup on!"

(Clara) "Loosen up Lin. Trust the process."

As she applies the eyeshadow, I speak up, "Soo, today at the supermarket... I met this... guyyy..."

(Clara) "OMG! Spill the tea sis!"

"He was hot." I rush out. "Mmmhmm" I cough trying to cover it. "I mean," I try to say with a little more composure, "He was fairly attractive."

(Clara) "What did he look like?"

(Aylin) "He wore a long brown coat that complimented his dark eyes. He had messy black hair that was a little long and sat on his head. He had a sharp jawline, but anyway all that's to waste anyways."

(Clara) "Why?"

(Aylin) "Because he broke my noodles!!"

(Clara) "Ooooh, that's bad. Were you harsh on him?"

(Aylin) "Yeah, a little. Now that you mention it, I was a little too harsh. I should apologize if I ever see him again."

(Clara) "By the way, how did he break your noodles."

(Aylin) "Well you know how I shake the packet to see if there are too many broken noodles inside, so once I had found a good packet, I was going to put it into the trolley but then he bumped into me and so I dropped the packet."

(Clara) "So you hadn't bought them?"

(Aylin) "No, I was still in the aisle."

(Clara) "Ohh, that's a relief, so you found another packet?"

"No, the guy did, I made him help me," I say looking away from her in embarrassment. I didn't even realise when she had stopped applying my make-up. I get up to look in the mirror, and WOW, she was right, I just had to trust the process. The make-up is natural, not heavy, full-face natural, but actually natural. With the foundation, I expected a caked layer, but it ended up looking like a tinted moisturiser, and the dark eyeshadow, made my green eyes pop. I looked stunning, thanks to my friend. I pull her into a big hug grateful to have her in my life. "Let's go!"

A/N: Merry Christmas! How was your Christmas? Mine was a little boring, I didn't do much and didn't have the inspiration to write for a couple of days. So, this chapter is a little longer. It was Aylin's perspective this time. I'm trying to increase the chapter sizes little by little but writing is hard so it may take a few days.
Today's chapter question is inspired by a recent tasty video I watched.

CQ: If you had to choose one colour to eat for a whole day and you couldn't eat any other colour, what colour would it be?
