AN: Welcome one and all to the VERY belated Halloween chapter! I've waited a LONG time to write this premise and I hope all of you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

(Location: Patterson residence)

"I was working in the lab, late one night. When my eyes beheld an eerie sight..."

The sound of Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett filled little ol' Haiku's bedroom as she was brushing her teeth while humming a different tune. Today was going to be a good day in her mind.

She definitely considered Halloween to be her favorite holiday of the year.

After finishing her morning routine, she swiftly got dressed into her everyday attire which in retrospect was very much appropriate for today. Then she grabbed her schoolbag and phone and proceeded to walk downstairs. 'It's gonna be a great day' she thought to herself.

Meanwhile, Georgia was cooking up an extra special breakfast for her daughter.

She was currently flipping over double thick chocolate chip pancakes. Just then, the little sorceress leaped off the last step and the gleefully skipped along to the kitchen after catching the scent of food.

"Good morning mom" Haiku greeted as she took a seat at the table. "Morning sweetie" the matriarch greeted back. Then she turned around with plate with three of the pancakes and placed it in front of the little sorceress, and then she put whipped cream on the first layer and then added a dash of sprinkles.

This made Haiku feel very happy and spoiled at the same time.

"Oh before I forget, I finished making the invitations" Georgia commented as she handed them to her daughter who then placed them into her bag for safe keeping. "I hope that they'll be able to come, especially Lincoln after being cooped up in the hospital for the weekend" the little sorceress thought out loud as she munched on her special breakfast. "I'm sure that they would" the matriarch assured her daughter.

BEEP-BEEP!

"Oooh, bus is here" Haiku commented as she gulped down the last of the pancakes.

She then got up from the table with her schoolbag and gave her mom a quick hug. "Have a great day sweetie" Georgia tells her. "I will" the little sorceress replied. "And happy birthday" the matriarch whispered. "Thanks mom." Haiku gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and then rushed out the door to catch the bus.

"She's growing up so fast" Georgia commented to no one in particular.

(Scene change)
(Location: R.W. Elementary school, Mrs. Johnson's classroom)

In the spirit of the holiday, the homeroom teacher decided to throw a Halloween party for the class.

There was music, black and orange balloons and streamers and even a mini refreshment table. The best part was seeing some of the students were wearing costumes, even Mrs. Johnson was dressed up like Glinda the Good Witch. Haiku was able to find her friends were all gathered around Lincoln's desk.

She walked up to them and then tapped Kat on the shoulder and asked what they were looking at. "We're watching Lincoln draw" she quietly explained as she didn't want to disturb the snow haired child's concentration, "he's like insanely fast and all you hear is the sound of the pencil scribbling." The little sorceress was now intrigued and decided to watch along with everyone else.

Now you're probably wondering; what was Lincoln drawing that caught everyone's attention?

From the snow haired child's point of view, he was currently drawing himself as a superhero soaring through the skies while still listening to his music. He had no clue that people were watching him.
