The battle of my mind that keeps me awake at night.

A man who kills his family because of an inner demon inside his head and fights for control.

He's lost it all and just wants to shut out the world. His mind has other plans as he becomes one with despair.

Joshua... at the darkest of nights... He truly is. He's at the lowest of lows. He's everything no one would want. Lustful. Disrespectful. Everything that could give someone an excuse to stop loving him. And soon, everyone did. Friends started distancing themselves. Relatives gossiped. Even classmates talked behind his back. Joshua wanted this to end. He wanted that void inside of him to be filled. So he tried filling it-lusting, learning stuff just to be praised-but nothing satisfied him. He still felt empty. He still wanted. He still felt that void breathe with desire for something he doesn't know. Because of that, he looked at other solutions. Because he was tired. Tired of trying to fill that void. Tired of never being satisfied. Then one day, he thought he had found a solution. Die or be a problem. It sounded simple to him. If he died, his mother wouldn't have to cook for two, wouldn't have to pay for two. His friends were shy-sure-but they were also social butterflies at times. They can find another friend. But Someone... Someone looked at him and loved him so much, that He would die for him in such a way, just so that Joshua wouldn't have to pay the price for his sins. And that Someone still had plans for Joshua. Plans that wouldn't change. So no matter how much Joshua would fall, Jesus wouldn't shame him. He would say, "You failure! Stay down!" But instead, the way a Father helps His child up when they fall down, so will He. He will show Joshua the light. - A YSVYXZ original.
