In the ancient Igbo village of Agu-Ukwu, Adanna is the most gifted beadmaker of her generation-her coral creations adorn brides, queens, and priestesses. But five years into her marriage to Ikenga, the fearless hunter known as "the Leopard," her womb remains empty. Whispers of a curse spread. Her mother-in-law demands a second wife. Her closest friend, Nwakaego, secretly plots to steal her husband. Yet the childlessness is not a curse from the gods-it is a consequence of a crime buried fifty years ago. Adanna's grandmother, a royal beadmaker, was falsely accused of witchcraft and died broken, swearing an oath that the truth would one day rise. Now, the stolen royal beads lie hidden beneath the sacred Ofo tree, sealed by a blood oath, and Adanna's barrenness is the ancestral payment for a lie that powerful families have protected for generations. As Adanna and Ikenga defy the village to uncover the past, they must navigate spiritual intrigue, friendship betrayal, and political conspiracy. But through it all, Ikenga refuses to abandon his wife: "If the gods give me no child through Adanna, then I shall grow old beside her." The Beadmaker's Tears is a sweeping tale of love that refuses to break, justice that demands to be uncovered, and the truth that finally sets the children free.

This book is for anyone. For anyone struggling to conceive or cannot. I'm sorry our bodies aren't nice to us and for the unexplainable feelings you have to deal with everyday. I'm sorry that we determine our worth on two pink lines. I hope this does what I intend for it to do, show that you aren't alone.
