In the series of explosions caused by the train cars in the White Fang's attack on Beacon, unbeknownst to the people of Remnant, a terrible place once buried for millenia was revealed once more. It was never given a name, no title seemed vile enough to describe the endless maze of murderous nightmares. The most fitting name it was ever given was a great withering tomb of horrid nightmares, forgotten and decaying gods, vengeful spirits, beasts of legend, cruel traps, dying titans, and endless wanderers wielding ancient and terrible powers. When at last a single pinprick of light pierced the heavy gates once more, it was only a matter of time before a denizen of the dark labyrinth at last breached the gates once more. And with the great gates unlocked and the guardian slain, the monsters in the dark would soon follow. Remnant would never be the same. ==================================== Bit of backstory here: CRAWL is a PvP 3on1 hack and slash game by Powerhoof set in a grim labyrinth. The goal of the game is to slay whoever is the "hero" at the time with monsters you summon and possess in each room. Once you become the hero (by killing the previous one), your goal is to survive long enough to level up to level 10 and challenge one of three bosses. Once you clear the boss, you are declared the winner and escape the dungeon. However, if you attempt to challenge the boss on the last attempt and fail, your soul is lost forever and your name is erased from the game. In my personal rendition however, freedom was a lie. The heroes and spirits were trapped for eternity in a cycle of bloodshed and reincarnation because the gods finally intervened and buried the place deep beneath the earth. The world changed, and finally turned into remnant, only for the great tomb to return. LET US DRAW OUR RAGGED BLADES, AND EAGERLY SEEK OUT BLOODSHED!

In a decaying building, a skeleton lies frozen mid-crawl, its bones etched with desperation. Scratches in the wood remain disturbingly fresh, hinting that whatever it fled from is still lurking in the silence.
