But I could not speak to them; neither could I understand their whispers, sounding like wind stirring upon dead leaves. Their eyes are hollow. No happiness, no love, just broken spirits meandering upon this cursed land, cursed, cursed, cursed. We are cursed to wander in this already dying kingdom, until one day may a saviour break that curse. But to us, there is no hope. None. I do not wish to hope either. For hope is a dangerous thing; it offers peace and freedom to us, yet always dances beyond our hooves, or perhaps snatched away by one if he is as cruel as the Black-hearted one. Cruel, hope is cruel. So we wander in this cursed land, as years pass away outside. I do not know how fast the years pass by, or how long we have already been trapped in this land.
