Emma always had bad luck. It all started at seven when her father had died and her mother went insane, leaving Emma in her ditsy aunt's care. Then if it wasn't bad enough, she lost her first love at the tender age of eight. Now five years later, her aunt leaves for a trip and Emma's bad luck enhances when she is sent to Rhode Island to live with her aunt's friend. Upon arriving Emma notices something strange about the neighborhood, and the family she is currently staying with. After all, she's not the only one with dark secrets.
