Jagga is a very bright Chamar (underprivileged) boy of 18. He brutally murders the rapist of his widowed mother and escapes to Delhi to seek shelter. The murder haunts him. And the police are on his heels. While Jagga is walking on the road, an industrialist loses control of his car and hits a tree. He is seriously injured. His mother tells him how a police Inspector brutalized her in his absence, trying to elicit information on Jagga. Jagga keeps giving the police a slip. But he is tortured by the desire to avenge the Inspector. In his struggle between doing the right thing and taking revenge on the Inspector, Jagga faces the final dilemma of his life. What did he choose: the life of a yogi or to commit another murder?
