Soon afterwards, she ends up falling into a coma due to her injuries and is placed in the care of sisterly pillars Kanae and Shinobu Kocho, both of whom place the younger teen in a hospital bed. After a month and a half, Mika wakes up from her coma to see the sweet natured demon slayer Kyojuro Rengoku sitting in a chair beside the hospital bed.

Ignored and forgotten by the Island, tormented by the mysterious howling beast in the trees, they clung to life by the skin of their teeth and struggled to keep each other safe.
