He had warned her about the book. Now it was too late. It's the summer of 1958, and unlike most girls her age, who do lame things like rollerskate and jumprope, Didi reads during the summer. However, she's lonely and bored, and she wishes for an escape. One day at the library, she notices a book with her name on it, so she checks it out and discovers a library within the book, a grand library that takes Didi far beyond her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky...

He had warned her about the book. Now it was too late. Based off of Harris Burdick's picture. I wrote this a while ago so it isn't that well written, but it's decent.

Some of you may not have heard of it, but this is a story based off a picture in "The Mysteries of Harris Burdick"

A hundreds of years ago, there was a prophecy created that said, "evil lurks within the shadows of the great realm of beyond, and will show their face only when the time comes and the leader will fall." It foretold that it would bring darkness upon every inch of beyond, but there could be only one who would have the power to stop it. A boy, twelve years of age, would be found sleeping through war, unfazed by the actions outside of his window. So now, every day, the white order has sent teams of fairies out in search of this boy. Thankfully there is always conflict somewhere so they could look anywhere in the world. It has been three hundred painfully long years since the king has fallen, and beyond has been submerged in darkness, and yet they still haven't found this mysterious boy. The one who has the power to end the war that was tearing the realm apart from the inside.

This is a story that I did for school. It is based off of the Harris Burdick's pictures: The Harp, and The Window. (I don't know the exact names of the pictures... but those are the ones that inspired this piece.

This is a book about the story in "The Mysteries Of Harris Burdick" called "The Seven Chairs".

A short story inspired by Harris Burdick's "The Harp". Jorge, a young boy, is destined to find a mythical harp that his brother, Marco, mentioned in one of his stories. Being his normal self, of course Jorge wouldn't believe such a dramatic story, and that's why he sets off on a little adventure to see if Marco's story is true. What will Jorge find on his quest for the majestic harp, and if he does, what would happen?

Bethany hates books. She hates school. She hates her life in general. Her father is gone, homework is killing her, and Ms. Thompson seems to hate her. But when she finds a special book in an unusual library, it turns her life upside-down. Soon, she is faced with another problem that uproots and destroys everything that she's been wanting. This was something I wrote last year as an assignment for one of my classes and the assignment was to write a story based on one of these mysterious drawings that belonged to Harris Burdick. Maddie doesn't know what to do with her life now that Eden is gone. She can't help but believe what happened is her fault. As Maddie retells what happened the summer Eden left town, it is skeptical weather or not she is telling the truth. It's up to the reader weather they want to believe Maddie's unfortunate story.

Dear readers, This is my version of Harris Burdick's Archie Smith, Boy Wonder. Harris Burdick disappeared in the lat 1900's and left none of his stories. All he left was a picture of his story, a title, and one line from his book (which I bolded in my story). I do advise you to look up Harris Burdick if you do not know what I'm talking about it is a true story.
