When Larien Telrúnya, a princess of Mirkwood, is discovered to be a half-blood, she is locked away to be forgotten by her family. When she meets dwarfs for the first time she is amazed and eager to go with them on their journey to reclaim their homeland. Along the way she learns more about her heritage, battles orcs, faces death for the first time, and falls deeply in love.
