In this special, forty-ninth entry of the 2022-2023 Film Journal, I begin my dive into revisiting and finishing the premiere films of the Universal Classic Monsters series with "Son of Frankenstein". Prepare for this journey into the gothic haunts of the imagination as I take a look back at what makes these characters so appealing for me and how my second look at this series begins.

Hello! So I loved this film and I'm a little obsessed now, haha, so yeah. I wrote this and I hope you like it, the prologue sort of explains everything... I would like to apologize the inaccuracies in this Book because I don't have the final script and some of the scenes are different from those in the films. (I know it's been about 2 years since I did anything to this but, I still really want to complete it! After rereading it though, I want to make some changes so I'm going to rewrite it all and then post it as one completed story. I hope it makes up for the extremely long wait :) ) (Victor/OC)

Whenever we hear the word 'monster' we take in little consideratiom for that beings feelings or innocence- only what they look like; yet when Mary Shelley discribed the monster, no matter how ugly, he was portrayed as a lost little boy! With this in mind I created this poem: enjoy!

In a world where creation and destruction are intertwined, The Creature's Soliloquy: A Tragic Rejection follows the haunting journey of a forsaken being. Created by the ambitious scientist Arthur Edward, the Creature is a living testament to man's desire to transcend nature. Yet, the moment of his birth, instead of bringing pride, only invites rejection. Abandoned by his creator and cast into a desolate wilderness, he is left to grapple with the harsh truth of his existence. Torn between longing for acceptance and the searing rage of betrayal, the Creature embarks on a solitary path through a world that sees him only as a monster. As he wanders through cold, unforgiving landscapes, he reflects on his creation, his purpose, and the meaning of life itself. He contemplates the nature of his being, torn between sorrow and fury, questioning whether the act of creation is a sin-if to create is to destroy. Driven by a desire for love, but met with fear and hatred, the Creature's journey transforms into one of vengeance. He seeks to make his creator and the world recognize the cost of ambition and the price of forsaking the very thing one brings into being. In a gothic exploration of rejection, creation, and the thirst for validation, the Creature's soliloquy is a tragic reflection on the cost of being born, unloved, and abandoned by those who should have cared for him. As his quest for vengeance begins, the Creature faces an existential question: What is the value of life, if one is never truly seen, never truly loved? What is the cost of creation, if that which is created is only a monster in the eyes of the world? The Creature's Soliloquy is a gothic tale of love, rejection, and the raw, painful pursuit of acceptance in a world that refuses to understand.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley Marry Shelly's chilling Gothic tale was conceived when she was only eighteen, living with her lover Percy Shelley on Lake Geneva. The story of Victor Frankenstein, who plunders grave yards for the material to fashion a new being, but whose botched creatures sets out to destroy his maker, would become the world's most famous work of horror fiction, and remains a devastating exploration of the limits of human creativity. Based on the third edition of 1831, this volume contains all Mary Shelley's revisions to her story, and also includes 'A Fragment' by Lord Byron and Dr John Polidori's ' The Vampyre: A Tale'.

This story will become free again on 3 March 2025. It will be removed from Wattpad at some point in the not too distant future. Jessica "Ike" Wordsworth can dive into books, but she isn't prepared for a monster - and a ruthless murderer killing her tourists. Ike is fighting the aftermath of a nasty divorce that left her husband in custody of her homesitting business - and her beloved cats. With nothing but a turquoise construction trailer to call her home, Ike invests her last quid and becomes partner in a tour company specialising in bespoke trips for book-lovers. When the guide hired to take on the first tour drops out at the last minute, Ike has to take over and steer her guests towards the cradle of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". All to soon she realises there truly are monsters on the loose, one of them a ruthless killer who's targetting her tourists. To unearth the truth, Ike will have to cooperate with her moronic partner, Gary Sands, 13th Baron of Nettlehole and founder of LiteraTours. When they don't succeed in stopping the killer, she realises she'll have to take the plunge and draw on some rather unusual skills her family has been hiding from the world . . . "Frankenstein's Guide" is the first instalment in the "LiteraTours Cozy Mystery series". [[word count: 100,000-150,000 words]] Cover designed by Ren T
