Adrian Rígo, a dhampir belonging to a well-known family in Stenvikstrad's upper society, finds himself accused of a series of brutal murders. In order to clear his name and keep the reputation of House Nikandros in tact, he joins forces with an infamous monster hunter named Tereza Ardelean to capture the creature responsible for the killings. It's not long before they realize there is far more going on than a monster feeding in the city. Adrian and Tereza begin to unravel an insidious plot laid by an ancient evil, the likes of which could change the very world. The hunters become the hunted as Adrian and Tereza race to kill the beast and foil the machinations of an entity they can't hope to defeat. Their efforts may be futile but they have no choice. Evil will triumph if the good do nothing.

Despite all this, nothing could have prepared them for the awe-invoking storm that was Ari. Ari is the most outgoing guy he's ever met. His village presides in a valley where, off in the distance, the tower on the hill is almost always too hazy to see clearly. The topic of almost every folk story in his village, the tower is told to shelter a terrible, mad wizard. Nothing could've prepared him for the disaster that was Ali. -- Very, VERY loosely based on Minecraft. Minecraft-related creatures are mentioned, and it uses Minecraft mechanics, but you do not have to know anything specific about the game to understand this story.
