After years of y/n l/n sitting on their computer they wonder "Why am I still alive?". After deciding to jump off the edge of their 4 story apartment building, in death y/n finds themselves in a train station. The train is a one-way to Sunset Bird, their new life. Being reborn into the 8 year old body of y/n Last, they know everything that happens within the next 10 years from their recent obsession with the game Our Life: Beginnings and Forever. Will the story go off rails? How does an 18 year old highschool student pretend to be an 8 year old? What happens when y/n dies again?

Based on a singular line from Cove's wiki page that says if he was a merman he'd be fascinated with the sky and want to fly. That's it. (Stupid slapped together cover it's whatever)

I've also got cove brainrot and haven't felt this happy to have a character like this since i first watched howl's moving castle. also, this is inspired by my sappy drafts that i let my friend sam read over and then had google randomly pick a number for.

Winter was always a hard time for Jamie, no sun, school stress, cold weather, and worst of all no Cove. Cove spent winter break with his mom which meant that the only time they got to see him was when they called every night, but it wasn't the same it wasn't him, it wasn't his warmth evenopling them in a hug, it wasn't him being there for their breakdowns, and that's what Jamie needed right now. Baxter Alexander Ward is often called cold and cynical... and for the most part, it's true. His trip to Sunset Bird hadn't changed that, despite meeting someone who genuinely loved them. It was hard to leave when the first person who looked past everything cried for him to come back, but that was what he was best at; running away. How was he supposed to know he would meet with them once again? (This story takes ln Baxter's POV, and you, the reader, are not the main character of the story, but are technically the love interest!) (This story also has a slight yandere/possessive Baxter-)
