Welcome! After two years, I completed my passion project with a meaningful, common-tongue translation of Hamlet, meant to bring Shakespeare to the masses. While still holding true to its original time period and subtext, the modern-day Hamlet strives to introduce people to Shakespeare, and the world of theatre again. Did you know Shakespeare was born into a plague? Not just any plague, THE plague. The "Black Death" ravaged Europe and changed the world as we knew it. You can see its effect in Shakespeare's art and how his works shaped what we know as theatre to this day. Much like then as today, theatres were forced to leave the ghost light on, close their doors, and witness the world became a little less bright. Out of the ashes emerged, what is widely accepted to be, the greatest work of the greatest playwright of all time. Cue Shakespeare! The Bard gave us The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; a new perspective on life, and what it means to be, or not to be, human. Converting old English and Shakespeare has been the efforts of many since its initial development. With in-depth reference and research, a common-tongue version of Hamlet came to be, while staying true to its original setting. Hamlet is an open-source play, but culturally it's a different story..

Written By Phillip Nagle, Ethan Bowman, and Kayla Coady finished by April 24th, 2015. Since I wrote this play four years ago with two friends. I tried to kept the integrity of it as much as possible. 80% of Randy is me, Kristy is Kayla, and Oliver is Ethan. So we did their lines and the 20% is us refining or keeping the lines focused. I changed some of it to our teachers suggestions cause this was a creative writing assignment. So I made the dialogue flow better and grammar fixes as well. Biggest change made was in scene 4 where I added some conflict where our teacher thought some was needed. Setting Florida- Tampa Sun Dome Print Shop Restaurant Diner Characters Randy Ortman Kristy Dubay Oliver Bleu Lue C. Ferr Barack Obama Terry Shaw Random Actors Viktor Vavevivovu Pandamonium Driver Waiter Plot Lue C. Ferr is an agent for famous playwrights and his current client just retired vanishing to the unknown after leaving the shop. Desperate for a new client to maintain his momentum and to stay relevant hires the young trio RKO. Having been hired they stay up for three days and four nights trying to come up with something before sleep deprivation catches up to them. They wake up and on Oliver's phone is a ton of messages praising their work to legendary status. So the trio go out trying to find out what happened seeing as they don't really remember what happened at all during those three days.
