❝ DON'T GET LOST IN THE WOODS FOR THEY ARE HUNGRY ❞ Vesnyana died a long time ago. As a rusalka, she is now bound to haunt the waters that took her life-and drown hapless folks in their cold depths to sate her endless hunger. However, her greatest desire remains unfulfilled: to become human again. That is, until the summer solstice, which drives young lovers into the trees in search of the magical fern flower. But only one of them is truly determined to find it. Which is but a game for other youths in the village of Lasow, to Yara seems like the only way to free herself from her sorrows. Little does she know there are far greater ones to come: A new priest arrives, eager to fight the old beliefs and driven by his own dangerous desires. Prophecies and dark omens plaguing Yara and her friend Levik speak of fire on the horizon. And the shadows on the wall start speaking. Have you ever heard of a Rusalka? Well, a Rulsalka starts as a woman who has died a tragic death by a lake. They are given new life as a spirit to kill for the lake by way of murdering their victims. They are to be tied to this fate like a farmer to the land. She is trapped in an eternal blood lust locked by these waters. This however does not stop her from being kind, she may help water mans' crops in the spring, or meet them and fall into love. Who knows? Maybe she isn't as evil as she believes herself to be.

Still no answer. I was starting to worry. But I heard something form the distance. A voice. Someone singing. It's like a hum of a song I know. A lullaby. A mother's lullaby. That's odd. No one was here. I continued to follow the footsteps, which made the singing even louder. I found a hat, covered with snow. I picked it up and recognized. Pierre's. My face went white. I bolted towards wherever the footsteps lead. I saw him. But another figure ahead of him. A woman. I think. Long, wet brown hair covered her face. Her face was very pale. Wearing a long white dress. Like a nightgown of some sort. She was singing. The lullaby. A mother's lullaby. She was smiling, sweetly, not sinisterly. Like a mother guiding her child to bed.
