Sillage (n): The impression left in space after something has gone. "I, forever will sink in the remnants Of vocal impressions, As my body melts into the hands of silence; Me, Heavy with recollection"

The lingering scent. The look they'd share, holding the same desire, but never acting. His reason for being. The overwhelming cravings she gives rise to. The unquenchable desire to kiss her. The want to hold her. The true happiness. The natural bond they shared. The pleasant times they spend together. The need to feel her lips. The words passed over silence. The euphoric moment of realising her love for him. The unparalleled beauty of her very soul. The requited love. The undying, the perpetual warmth of her body beside him. The impermanent, the ephemeral warmth of her ghost beside him.

I only wish this title was more romantic, it being ironic that it is a French word. (There is no English word) But the meaning behind this word is exactly the kind of romanticism you would expect from the French. "Sillage; (from French) - a veil of scent that a person leaves behind when walking or when you enter a lift and smell what someone before you had left." This is what it felt like-loving him. His affection rushed through and past me, leaving the sillage. The words not spoken, the memories, desire and the pain. And I know like sillage, if I do not write this down the scent will soon fade-not forgotten just unreachable and indescribable. So I give you, the sillage of us.
