Introverted Ilhaam is a hopeless romantic waiting for her own love story, but somehow has come to believe that no man will ever truly love her because of one feature that she is very insecure about - being BROWN-SKINNED. Will Ilhaam meet the man of her dreams? Will she overcome her unending insecurities? Above all, will she learn to love herself? ------- B.O.A.T is more than just a cliche romance. It is a story that revolves around a real social issue - COLORISM, which for years has tormented many people's lives, including mine. I've tried my best to portray the struggles of a brown-skinned girl as it is, which sometimes might look too exaggerated and negative for some readers. Of course, I could've written about a girl who finds comfort and loves her skin tone right from chapter one (because who doesn't like to read about a confident heroine, right?), but I didn't want to sugar-coat anything. This is a story about heartbreak, fighting through your insecurities, falling down, picking yourself up, and learning to love yourself without the need of validation from a man. Rosaline Mirza is from Malaysia, but is ashamed of her background because she doesn't have a certain Malaysian look. She is an aspiring flutist and hopes to be part of an orchestra one day. Jordan Kubo is from Japan, but is also 1/4 Irish, but no one believes him because he looks "too Asian" to be 1/4 Irish. He holds a doctorate in marine biology, but hopes to get the post-doctoral degree soon. The three unintentionally met together and became a trio. Sticking close by, will they be defeated by society? Will their friendship stick? Or will everything go downhill?

I understand the feelings in all of your hearts. I want to change the mindset of people around this world. They have become so preoccupied with black and overweight people that they discriminate against them. My only endeavor is to change even 1% of people's thinking. God created us; everything He created is beautiful and good. . . Join me and, if possible, spread my voice to every corner of the world. Let's change this mindset together. ✨💓🌼

In the beginning of time only one group of people inhibited the earth called the Kinayois, they had fair skin that absorbed the beauty of light, silky hair and eyes in every shade of color. They had elements of nature within their hands and where capable of wonders. Centuries passed as the group flourished, but there came a drought that threaten to put an end to their civilization. It hadn't rained in years, but one day the sky roared in furry as rain started to pour down on earth , and along came something in the sky unseen before by the Kinayois. It crashed, and by counts of witnesses there came out people with skins as dark as night, cheek bones perfectly phased, hair rough but curly at the same time, dark eyes that reflected the sky. They called themselves the Jefyidis from planet Digozi. The Jefyidis weren't accepted by Kinayois,who often hated or feared the Jefyidis for their physical differences and powers. Along came two individuals involved in a love forbidden by both sides , and the result of their love was seen as an abomination .But a day will come when both sides needed each other to survive. A day that changed everything forever. A day where they needed to define who they all where in each other's eyes. A day that brought them together and see each other as equal.

Skin color, nationality, religion,... why do we actually deal with it? We are equivalent. You, you are no worse than me and I am no worse than you. We are the same, we are human. ♥
