Bones, Carla, and Lucky-three overeducated twenty-somethings with a loose grip on reality-gather in a half-furnished rental house to watch bad television and drink thawed peyote tea. As the analog signal flickers and the cactus kicks in, their jokes and digressions spiral deeper into surrealist philosophical weirdness. Bleakly funny, Stupid People On TV is a lo-fi psychedelic chamber play about lost love, loops in time, and the dream of meaning in a world that mostly wants you to shut up and watch the ads.

The viewpoint that our modern society has on some of today's biggest stereotypes are described using witty rhymes in this poem, taken place in a crowded elevator.
