After a desperate and ultimately catastrophic attempt to take a soviet controlled factory, a handful of German survivors are on the run from the pursuing Russians. They soon find themselves in the sewer system below Stalingrad, where something far more brutal and terrifying than the Russians is hunting them too. What are these horrific creatures? Does the mysterious Nazi officer that has attached himself to the group know more than he is letting on? Can a young Lieutenant retain control of them all? And will any of them escape from this claustrophobic tomb? Wattpad User comments... "Where's the rest? I MUST read the rest! So tense, evocative and terrifying at the same time." "Gripping. Looking forward to reading more. Your action sequences are spot on as others have commented. You've given each character a real individual identity. Can't wait to read more." "This story is so tense. I was reading this with a beating heart! The battle scenes were so vivid, and the characters were imaginable with their well described features." "LOVED THIS! Did it ever get made...?" "I am LOVING this and the way it is heading." "Excellent. The story powers on at a great pace. Nice, rising tension and conflict. Well crafted indeed." "The sense of helplessness amongst the men is palpable and you've done really well ramping-up the tension between them with every set piece. Can't wait to read the pay off." "Lots of tensions between them, there'll be a few more Tarantino standoffs before it ends."

"Stalingrad—one of the bloodiest European battles of the whole war. The Germans, Italians, and their cronies (which happened to be Romania, Hungary, and Croatia) against the Russians and us, a small group of around two-to-three hundred American reinforcements. And how I survived it? A death (among many), my utter uselessness to the army, and quite a lot of paper clips." "Eggshell Sky" : (c) vvhispered I did not create anything on my own in this story except for the American unit, the Russian unit, and the characters mentioned specifically. I do not own any mentioned places.

The Orville and Wilbur Wright flew under power in 1903. The first flight travelled only 120 feet but Wilbur flew 24.5 miles in 38 minutes in August 1904. More powerful aircraft engines were developed during WW-1 but airframes were too fragile for aerial fighting. H.Focke's transverse twin-rotor helicopter, broke all helicopter world records in 1937. After WW-1, designers used duralumin airframes and smaller, monoplane wings for fighter aircraft like the Supermarine Spitfire. At Midway, in 1942, American dive-bombers sank three of the four Japanese aircraft carriers. I.Sikorsky developed the first practical single rotor helicopter with a single tail boom rotor and produced over 400 helicopters in WW-2. The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter in action in 1944. For maximum efficiency most jet aircraft need to cruise at about Mach 0.8 (610 mph) and at altitudes above 30,000 ft. In 2021, with battery powered, contra-rotating propellers spinning at 2500 rpm, NASA's Dragonfly helicopter lifted off from the surface of Mars. It weighed only 2 pound. WHO THE HELL ARE WE? is a series of short books and videos describing the evolution of civilization. Almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors only 50 years ago. This astonishing phenomenon has also improved health, education, and longevity. The cause; an explosive growth in ideas and productivity. It began when we learned to control fire, evolved articulate speech and stumbled onto the way to create infinite wealth; free trade. The discovery of agriculture made us richer but we also learned how to destroy wealth. Great civilization grew up but then disappeared leaving only incredible ruins and ideas. Later books detail some of the ideas and developments that increased the average life span from about 40 years to more than 80 and the average world income from less than $3 to more than $33 per person per day (and to $140 per day in some countries).

Katyusha was your average young woman in Russia, that was until June 22 when the Blitzkrieg of Russia began. Her town became war-torn and wanting to fight; she picked up arms with her grandfather's rifle. Driven by revenge and hatred towards the Wehrmacht forces, her legacy and wraith were brought forth in its fullest. The first female sniper ever to join the Russian ranks, she quickly became feared on the front as she earned her nickname, 'Die Jägerin.' This was her war, and her stories about survival, betrayal, and her brothers in arms that have fallen in the bloodiest, most desperate battles of WWII leading up to Berlin.
