16 year old Frank Iero got a guitar for his birthday not to long ago, but he didn't know how to play. His father started paying for private guitar lessons with Mr. Way, where Frank will finally learn how to play the guitar... and maybe learn a few other things as well.

He was found as a young boy, homeless under a bridge, and brought into the circus to start a new life. Him and his small capuchin monkey, Marty, perform various acts for the show, and he is known as the monkey boy. When another performer comes into the picture, Frank's life is turned into a completely different perspective. Gerard Way, 'the great, magnificent, fearless, sword swallowing dragon dancer', is just another circus freak. Frank and Gerard grow a strange relationship like no regular circus pals would have, and must keep it a secret, for they can't reveal their true feelings. When they are together, things turn into a little more than a freak show.
