For a hundred years, the Empire has been defending itself against a demon invasion, a war that humanity doesn't seem capable of winning.

Born in the harsh and barren Northlands, Briar Winters was born an orphan before she was whisked away from her homeland to be a soldier and serve as a part of the Imperial Army. Briar will stop at nothing to fight and free her country, fighting for a purpose that she believes in as she tries to shake off her dark past that haunts and weighs her down.

But no matter how strong Briar's beliefs are, she will soon realize that there are some enemies that she could not defeat and secrets that might shake the balance of her world. Dark secrets plague the nation; one concerning the Empire itself, a boy with a cursed bloodline, and what it means to truly be human in a world descending into chaos and incoming storms.

And unfortunately Briar might just be in the center of it.
