After years of sitting in the drafts and by non-existent demand, Clinton C. Durueke presents the scrapbook: Random Nigerian Relatables. You have definitely heard of Nigeria: the most populous Black nation, the erstwhile Giant of Africa, the hub of Afrobeats, all that. For all its positives, many locals would advise you to stay away (said locals fantasise about leaving everyday). However, you can still feed your curiosity and learn a thing or two (or thirty-three) about this intriguing nation. Who knows, it may help you win over your Nigerian romantic interest in your next date. Or not.

RESOLVE

~~~~(Mature)~~~~ "We're worlds apart..." "But I'm right here." "I'm far, farrrrrrrrrr far beneath your class..." "And so? I don't care." He shrugged. "You're fucking engaged!" I rubbed away the tears, scrubbing the edge of my sweater on my sore skin. "And somehow you keep acting like that singular most important factor in whatever you're doing here with me is nothing." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria, a young woman named Somi struggles to be stable. She has been in and out of jobs, trying to keep up her "A" streak in school. Hot-headed and a go-getter. Her life turns when she meets Adams, a handsome and successful, Arewa man from an influential family, and despite having a betrothed, Adams is drawn to Somi's beauty, charm, and personality. Sarima is Somi's twin sister, and she struggles to make ends meet just like her sister. She has to deal with the university hassle, bills, and finding a good life with her sisters, Somi and Homa, without selling her body(beauty). She feels lost and directionless as there are a lot of drawbacks to being independent and surviving in Nigeria. To make matters worse, she also struggles with her feelings for her supposed friend, Kene. Will these sisters have it good at the end of the day or entangle themselves in a web they never planned to be in? #1 make money ~ 17th June 2023
