Ally Martinez is an American transfer student to Karasuno. She used to be a star volleyball player but she stopped playing after a major injury caused on purpose by another teammate.
She took up crew instead and managed to find a place to row near her new home.
However, after school one day, Ally is walking by the gym after school on her way to her rowing marina when she hears the familiar noise of sneakers squeaking and volleyballs slamming against the floor. Ally peeks her head in to see a raven-haired boy toss a perfect set to a ginger boy. She hesitates before continuing to walk.
