Amelia Daan hates her father.

"Abandoned" by him at the age of three, Amelia lives with her mother in the small town she has known for all her life. Content with never seeing her father again, her life is normal.

That is, until her mom mysteriously disappears one night and Amelia is forced to move across the country, to New York City with the father she hardly remembers. Heartbroken and hateful, Amelia starts attending a small private school called Rowern Academy.

Amelia soon finds that Rowern is not a normal school. With classmates who start fires without lighters, to teachers who seem to appear out of thin air - it is clear that nothing is what it seems.
