Cassandra Carrera is an 18 year old girl who drowns her problems and trauma with alcohol, drugs and sex.

She grew up with her alcoholic mother who did nothing but make the girl miserable. A month after her 18th birthday, her mother goes missing, something the woman has done as long as Cassie can remember, and she decides to stay with her father in the Outer Banks. The Carrera girl is ecstatic to finally be living with her father, step mother and half sister, all of which she has great relationships with.
