Dahlia Hopper, the queen bee of Hawkins High, had always been wrapped up in the usual high school concerns, her perfectly styled hair, flawless makeup, fashionable clothes, and the attention of boys. Despite her popularity and all the expectations that came with it, she was surprisingly down-to-earth. People assumed she'd be the classic mean girl, quick to put others down, but Dahlia had never had any interest in bullying. In truth, she despised it.
    
    But when Will Byers went missing, everything changed. Suddenly, her usual worries felt shallow and insignificant. Boys, makeup, and even her carefully maintained social image no longer seemed to matter, replaced by a determination to help however she could.
    
    "I'm the chief of police's daughter," she said with a fierce, steady gaze. "Of course I know how to use a gun."
