Alice is a girl who lives in California and works at a bookstore. Nothing special, but the college she goes to has her write a "pen pal" for 3 months not knowing who the person is, but something in her life takes a turn for what she seems the worse and she tells her teacher she can't complete the assignment already given.
So she loses her pen pal and gets stuck with someone else.
