In the heart of Texas, football reigns supreme. The same holds true in Brighton, Texas, a small-town North of Waco where the Grizzlies try to make a run for the state championship. Every summer, the team comes together, pausing life to focus solely on the game. Scholarship offers come by the dozen for most players who want to stay in Texas, but for Clarke Harbor, he works harder to find the best college or university that doesn't offer a scholarship that would remand him to Texas. His dream is to play long enough to get his education and forget about football after graduating, even though his family has more than enough money to send him to school; Clarke wants to make his own path in life, but as most high school students discover that life isn't always that cut and dry when loves creeps through the cracks. Clarke and Tracy finally give in to their feelings, but as one dreams of success in the business world, the other is drawn to acting on the grandest stage of all, Broadway. Destiny is never kind but can prove fair with the right timing. Tracy's always been about leaving Brighton, but when she admits how she feels to Clarke over the long-hidden crush, she abandons her own promise to be with him. Instead, Clarke sees their blossoming relationship as a means to push himself further away from Brighton. He promises to follow Tracy, his first serious crush since middle school, to wherever she goes so they can stay together and help each other from returning to their hometown. It's not until the summer before their senior year that the "Honeymoon Days" come to an end with a shocking and disastrous revelation. Still, the pain caused by betrayal surges Clarke and Tracy to find a way to make it work, feeling that destiny has more in store for them. As opportunity knocks, which way will it send Clarke and Tracy as they begin to figure out their lives and where they want to go. How will their love overcome things they never did predict would happen?
