Lorraine who goes by Raine and her widowed mother Beth, just moved to Hawkins, Indiana from Bolder Colorado. She left behind her best friend Haley and boyfriend Corban to move what felt like around the world for a fresh start after the sudden passing of her stepfather Jacob. What feels like a huge mistake to Raine, the move becomes a new beginning as a new, kind of cute but kind of weird older senior boy named Eddie Munson befriends her. Their friendship quickly grows into more that leaves Raine questioning her whole life before him.
