Tessa Stark: Desert Heat

Special Detective Tessa Stark is called to the dusty desert town of Santa Maria to investigate the death of a local socialite and very soon finds herself with a sizable list of suspects. Wading through that list is going to be daunting task, especially given that the victim's uncle, a powerful United States Senator, doesn't trust that she can find the killer. But, perhaps even more daunting than solving a case that seems unsolvable, is having to face a piece of her past that she'd been avoiding for the last fifteen years.

She can't allow the past to get in the way of her investigation, though. A young woman had been killed and a family had been left grieving, without answers and without justice. And who better to hunt down the killer and help the family begin to heal than the daughter of the infamous Robert Stark.

After all, murder was in her DNA.
