Juniper Blue Doiron is a loyal, genuine, and dutiful son. He's a people pleaser who puts everyone else's happiness first. His siblings all left the woods of Maine to build different lives for themselves, leaving Juniper to care for their ailing father and ensure that their thriving farm and campground continue to thrive. Juniper isn't unhappy: During the offseason, he teaches third grade in a nearby elementary school and works as a white water river guide in the warmer months while making some of the best blueberry pies the state of Maine has ever tasted. But Juniper never realizes how lonely he is until he meets a handsome stranger in the most unusual way. His inner conflicts are exposed and he faces a dilemma for the first time in his life.
