"BRAND NEW DAY" After being bitten by a genetically engineered spider, young Peter Parker finds that he now has incredibly enhanced strength, speed and agility. Along with the ability to adhere to any surface, a precognitive spider-sense that warns him of danger and a pair of mechanized web shooters, the idealistic teenager fights against evil as the costumed hero Spider-Man. Set during the decade of the 1990's, this is a Generation X version of the Amazing Spider-Man story. This is a time when young people believed that they had the power to change the world for the better. In order to make a difference, Peter will need to rely on his friends for help and have the courage to believe in good. (Written: September 21, 2023) LAST ISSUE: Despite the best efforts of her friends, the troubles facing Mary Jane Watson came to a head in the form of a car accident as a result of her drinking problem. However, it forced the teen girl to confront her own personal demons. A stay at the New York Presbyterian Hospital gave her some much needed perspective. After a dream involving her late friend, Gwen Stacy, she also got some much needed closure. Mary Jane realized that every passing moment is just another chance to turn it all around. Meanwhile, Spider-Man's efforts to put an end to Oscorp's Genetic Potential Formula program continue. The wall crawling hero managed to track down a former Oscorp employee, Donald Menken, to New Jersey. He arrived just in time to prevent Menken and Dr. Curt Connors from being abducted by Norman Osborn and a new foe, Kraven the Hunter. The Amazing Spider-Man somehow managed to fight Kraven to a standstill, but it is obvious that he has not seen the last of this formidable foe.
