But their victory remained short-lived. While peace was maintained on the surface, a single prophecy managed to stir memories of the past and resurrected the forgotten from dead. Arise from the grave, the old gods and their champions, threatened to overthrow the rule of the Undyed. The power of old, trapped in another age, stood defiance against the Undyed while the Ewres remained undecisive, as they have in the previous age. The Ewres had remained reluctant to their invitation to join hands and challenge the reign of the Undyed.
