Both of Starla Gloss's sisters were happily married, while all she had as her other half was her job. She worked constantly, which leads her sister to force her out of her own café. Starla decides to not fight her much more, and heads to the nearby bay.

While there, she finds an odd-looking man with red eyes. Before she could even comprehend it, this man was biting her neck and drinking her blood.

Luckily, her sister finds her and gets her to a hospital just in time. But no one has any answers for her. It was clear that she had been bitten, but there was no evidence of vampires - or even a man being in the bay.

Two days after her attack, a weird family who shared similar features to the man show up in town.
