Mickey Lorde, a Junior and military brat, now lives with her parent's recently widowed friend. Her parents wanted to allow her and her brother to stay through college.
The widow has a son in fifth grade and a daughter in Mickey's grade. If only Mickey had known who the daughter was BEFORE agreeing to live with them

Margarita, or Rita, as she goes by in school (family/family friends call her Maggie), is one of the most popular girls in school. She isn't hiding anything, per say, but a lot of rumors go around about her. She is also a cheerleader, which is one of the only things Mickey knew about her previously.

She DEFINITELY did not know she was her dream girl, as well as willing to actually listen to her dreams, rather than mess with them.
