After a mishap with the Veil of Death at the Department of Mysteries, Andromeda Iris Potter Black, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood, Teddy Lupin, Daphne Greengrass, and Astoria Greengrass find themselves catapulted into 1940s London. Andromeda, troubled by his growing darkness and driven by a desire to alter the course of history, resolves to change his life. Her quest to prevent his descent into Voldemort and to protect the wizarding world from future devastation becomes a central focus.
