Hues Of Labyrinth draws out the rift between two former best friends pitting their heads at court over the succession.

Queen Aemma dies, and Rheanyra is chosen as the heir to the iron throne, which sends Daemon back to the Vale.

Howbeit, the council urged the King to remarry, so Viserys chose Alicent as his wife, unbeknownst, the Hightower had a secret entanglement with his younger brother.

Hoping they'd continue their relationship after wedding the King, Klaus suddenly ghosted Alicent and left without responding to her letters. Bitter and heartbroken, the Queen decided to drown her memories and move on.

Rheanyra and Klaus often exchange letters and the two have grown fond of each other over the years. Learning of their meeting, Alicent grew more jealous and hatred for Rheanyra, the Queen even went as far as accusing the Princess of ruining her friendship with her uncle.

With Aegon in the picture, conflict arose at court. Rheanyra's factions are known as the Blacks, while Alicent's factions are known as the Greens. Both vying to be the First Lady of the Seven Kingdoms.

The Queen and her supporters are swiftly gathering allies, but the Princess needs a stronger fortification by her side to support her claim, so she sends word to her uncle Daemon, who refused her beck and call, but when she sends word to her love interest. The dragon awakens.

When Klaus Targaryen returns from victory in the Stepstones to King's Landing, he discovers his beloved niece surrounded by a court of vipers, chief amongst them was his former lover Queen Alicent Hightower and her father, Otto Hightower.

Now estranged, with their past forgotten and buried. Klaus tramples on Alicent's feelings and joins Rheanyra to claim her birthright with Fire and Blood.
