Aesc is blindly, selfishly determined to achieve happiness for himself. In his lapse, he gets Kate back, and sparks the beginning of the long-awaited apocalypse. But Kate herself was inches from Paradise and genuine happiness, and she has become more aware than ever before of the evil and the chaos that looms over Aesc's head and in his shadow.

King Aesc must lead his evil army into the Divine War knowing it is suicide while keeping control over Ravus' followers while getting Kate to love him as much as she once did before.

Kate must come to the truth of what she truly wants, and whether or not she can obtain it.
