Advice:  If you want to write a story, just do it.  You don't have to make a career out of it, it can just be a hobby.  That's what sites like this are for.  It is okay to scrap a story, it still gives practice and experience.  It also helps you find the story that you want to write about.  If you do not write well, that is fine, find a friend or fellow writer and credit them as an editor.  You will get better over time, pay attention to how novels look and are written, it helps.  Keep writing!!!
