I am a white, gay male who has been lucky to have found love and a husband of many years (met in 1998, domestic partnered in 2008, legally married in 2013). I am a research psychologist and a professor at an academic medical center. I live in Northern California, where I have found a community of lovely, kind, open, like-minded people. Perhaps I live in too much of a bubble, but I try to make a positive impact in the world beyond.

Born and raised in the Midwest as a gay kid was a struggle--always feeling like I had a secret that I was too afraid to share. Luckily, I had a warm and loving family with parents who demonstrated their faith through love and caring - not judgment, condemnation, or righteousness. My siblings and the rest of my family are a great source of support and friendship!

Television shows like Wonder Woman (and the Bionic Woman) were a huge source of comfort and inspiration for me. I even had a subscription to Wonder Woman comic books. I was very excited when the more recent Wonder Woman films came out, and even though I (mostly) enjoyed them, I always felt they strayed too far from Wonder Woman's feminist roots, fighting Nazis, and trying to make the world a safer and better place. Maybe that's just me.

The rise of the MAGA movement in the US has angered and disappointed me, and I always wanted to see a story about how Wonder Woman would fight authoritarianism in the modern age/not-too-distant future.

I spend a lot of time and energy on academic writing, and this is my first attempt at fan fiction. I don't read much fan fiction at all, so I apologize if this tale isn't to anyone else's liking. But, I enjoyed crafting the story and thought others might enjoy reading it too.

Helpful critiques are welcome, please no homophobic or transphobic rants--I'm sure there are lots of other forums for those.
