Author's Note - "Sacred Arrow" (English Translation) Sacred Arrow is the third novel in my anthro cycle, written in Russian 2021-2025. If you enjoy anthro lions, lionesses, or felines generally, this may be for you. The setting blends the late Roman Empire with the Middle Ages and faint touches of the Enlightenment. The cycle centers on the Ashai-Keetrah, a mystical priestess order in the Suung Empire. Sacred Arrow follows the Messengers - rare lionesses within the Ashai-Keetrah who practice the Craft: sending Messages through dreams across any distance. The footnotes, absent from the Russian original and added here for context (mostly established in the cycle's first novel), feature two voices - S. and Z. - who argue with each other and occasionally with the text itself. Treat them as interpretive companions, not reference material. The translation is my own and attempts to preserve the syntactic and semantic structures of the Russian original; the prose is dense by design. I'd recommend reading it as a PDF - link on my personal website in my profile (it's free). Plot synopsis (opening): Mauna, a young patrician lioness and Messenger acolyte, has trained for years in the sacred Craft but struggles with its core skill: Messaging. Despite her noble lineage and dedication, she can't master the dreamwalking techniques required for full Messenger status. Her mentors are losing patience, and whispers suggest she's destined to become a Pre-Messenger - a support role marking her as a failure. As a last resort (or perhaps abandonment), Mauna is sent for "praxis" with Vaalu-Amaya, an eccentric Messenger living in the Empire's remote northwestern corner. Amaya is everything Mauna didn't expect: crude, unorthodox, dismissive of tradition, and still reeling from the recent massacre of her entire household. Yet Amaya possesses something extraordinary - and that's where things begin.

Meanwhile, the scientific community is investigating a large terrestrial object which passed by Earth in only a couple of days, taking an incredibly strange path. The scientific community speculates normal meteor activity, but one group thinks differently. A group simply known as The Team is a group of scientists who work out mysteries about science. Their newest recruit, Jim Mac, opens the group's eyes to the large object and they begin to work on the mystery at once. What they find is that the object is constantly flying over The Crimson Islands. GOD IS REAL Apocalypse cleansed the world, leaving the remaining humanity reborn in ashes. A theocracy rose from the ruins, its iron fist wielded by the Church. Under the Pope's dominion, faith became law, enforced by the Templars and Acolytes. But beneath the pious façade, humanity's darkest sins festered. Doubt, a venomous seed, took root, and from it grew a rebellion. A war for the soul of humanity looms, a clash between blind obedience and the unyielding free will.

After a holy war that revealed angels and demons to humanity, the world was rebuilt under a single, merciless rule: purity. Those deemed pure at birth live in the cities of God, protected and revered. Those marked as impure are cast into Baraonda - an overcrowded, lawless city at the edge of the kingdom, where survival is the only faith left. Nox was born impure. Dangerously so. His soul weighs ninety - a percentage feared even by the authorities - yet nothing about him seems monstrous. He is gentle. Devout. Almost angelic. Too kind for a world that despises him. Everything changes when a brutal, inexplicable death shatters his fragile routine. And a mysterious psychiatrist, tasked with weighing souls, arrives unannounced, vanishes without explanation, and seems to know far too much about Nox. Raven watches him closely. Possessively. As if Nox were something precious... or something dangerous. As faith, purity, and divine order begin to crack, it becomes clear that the world is not what it claims to be. Behind the saints move ancient, corrupted forces. Behind salvation hides something deeply wrong. This is a dark fantasy BL about forbidden bonds and unholy devotion. A slow burn love born from fear, obsession, and longing. A story of cruelty and tenderness, jealousy and sacrifice, gods that lie and monsters that remember. Expect: - Dark, religious fantasy & heavy worldbuilding - Slow burn BL with intense emotional tension - Angst, trauma, jealousy, obsession - A long story divided into narrative arcs If you love tormented characters, danmei-like dynamics, and stories that hurt before they heal - this is for you. - Cover designed for TOSAR by @mattfzo

The clerical cloak given to him to confine him to the ways of The Moon God instead let Festor stay invisible as he quietly grew his rebellion. Festor's hidden alliance - called L'Sunder - seeks to mix both the cultures and divine magics of the world's major cosmic deities. The time has come for him to start pushing his initiative publicly, an effort for unity he hopes will change the world for the better. Or, in the eyes of the current head of a priestly bloodline deemed near-royalty, Half-Moon Davodson Lunik the Fifth, shatter the universe's stability entirely. Influential, wealthy, and relentlessly devout, Lunik is Festor's biggest threat. Conference after conference seems to bring the two rivals much too close for comfort, threatening to expose L'Sunder out from under the radar. Much as they want to believe it, neither party is wholly virtuous nor villainous, each finding the game - and their adversary - growing more complicated the more cards they play. Festor just hopes he'll make it out with the upper hand. I'm writing this story as a teaser for my visual novel Project Grandfather Clock - demo coming this winter.
